OUR LIFE
The
symbols of the congregational seal of the Sisters of Saint Mary
highlight aspects of their spirituality.
The
political upheaval and turmoil for the people of
Congo
in the 1960s forced our sisters to remove crucifixes
from their schools and clinics. In response to this the sisters
chose to wear a small crucifix.
In
1995 this CROSS was designed for every sister in the congregation
as 'a sign of hope where there is no more hope…'
In
a world struggling with issues of faith and belief
the Sisters of Saint Mary choose: To dedicate time and
energy to strengthening their communities by regular
sharing of experiences of life and of the Word. To
deepen their faith through personal and community prayer.
